As President and Co-Founder of The Children’s Health (CHF), Dr. Redlener founder the National Children’s Health Project Network, which consists of mobile-based and other primary care programs for severely disadvantaged child populations in a number of urban and rural communities throughout the U.S. He recently completed a two-year term as Chairman of the National Advisory Council on the National Health Service Corps. Dr. Redlener founded and chaired the Physician Leadership Committee for National Health Care Reform and currently leads Kids First, Kids Now!, a national CHF initiative seeking to establish guaranteed access to comprehensive health care for all children.
Dr. Redlener was appointed President of The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and Director of The Child Health Network at Montefiore in May 1999. As Director of The Child Health Network and Director of the Division of Community Pediatrics, Dr. Redlener is working to establish strong functional linkages between The Children’s Hospital and Montefiore’s affiliated ambulatory delivery systems.
Dr. Redlener has served as a consultant to the White House and to the Assistant Secretary for Health in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Previous experiences also include international work on access to health services in Ethiopia, Sudan, Guatemala, and Honduras. Dr. Redlener received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and pediatric training at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, University of Colorado and Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
