Edward's Fund
Edward's Fund provides financial assistance to Department of Pediatrics programs, particularly those that benefit disadvantaged children and their parents who are cared for at Georgetown University Hospital. Each year, earnings are designated to support ongoing programs and facilities enhancements. In recent years, the Fund has funded the artists-in-residence art therapy program for patients and their parents, poetry writing program for patients and the purchase of audio/video equipment, games and other items needed to enhance the inpatient experience for children and their families. The availability of these programs and resources has been instrumental in helping alleviate the stress involved with a hospital stay for both children and their parents. Edward's fund was established to make hospital stays less frightening and more bearable for our patients - in memory of the son of Edward R. and Patricia C. Leahy.
